Privacy Policy — OSD.WTF
Effective Date: October 12, 2025
Last Updated: October 12, 2025
1. Overview
OSD.WTF ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website, listen to our Spaces, participate in discussions, or engage with our content.
We are a public, community-driven broadcast project operating under the OSD ecosystem. Our goal is transparency, education, and support — not data collection.
2. What We Collect
We collect only the minimal information necessary to operate, communicate, and improve OSD.WTF.
a. Automatically Collected Data
When you visit our website, basic non-personal information may be collected automatically:
- IP address (anonymized)
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Referring website or link
- General analytics data (page views, time spent, etc.)
b. Voluntary Information
You may provide information voluntarily when:
- Submitting a contact or sponsorship form
- Signing up for updates or a newsletter
- Sending an email or DM to OSD.WTF
This may include your name, email, social handle, or project name. We use this information only to reply or provide requested materials.
c. Public Participation
When you join or speak in an OSD.WTF Space on X:
- Your voice and username may be publicly visible and audible to all listeners.
- X may retain temporary audio copies for up to 30–120 days for moderation.
- OSD.WTF may review or request access to these recordings to identify significant moments (see Section 6).
We do not collect private keys, financial data, or personal identifiers beyond what you voluntarily share.
3. How We Use Information
We use the limited data we collect to:
- Respond to messages or contact requests.
- Manage sponsorship and collaboration inquiries.
- Improve our website and show performance.
- Identify and preserve important cultural or educational discussions.
- Produce clips or promotional content (with consent).
We do not sell, lease, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses minimal cookies or analytics scripts.
- We may use basic session cookies to keep forms working properly.
- We do not use invasive tracking or behavioral advertising cookies.
- Some embedded content (e.g., X posts, YouTube clips) may set third-party cookies governed by their own policies.
You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still function.
5. Data Retention
- Contact and sponsor form submissions are retained only as long as needed to complete correspondence.
- Analytics data is anonymized and used for aggregated reporting.
- If you participate in a Space, any internal X recordings are held by X (not OSD.WTF) for up to 30 days, or 120 days if under moderation review.
- OSD.WTF does not permanently store user audio or metadata unless a clip is created.
6. Recording, Archives & Clip Usage
a. Live Sessions
- Spaces may be recorded, unrecorded, or clipped after broadcast.
- When recording is active, X displays a "REC" icon visible to all.
- Even unrecorded Spaces may be temporarily stored by X for moderation.
b. Clip Creation
- OSD.WTF may review or retrieve content from X's archive within the 30–120 day retention window to create educational or promotional clips.
- No clip will be published without prior verbal or written consent from identifiable speakers.
- If we cannot reach a participant, and they later request removal, the clip may be taken down at our discretion.
c. Third-Party Recording
- Because Spaces are public, listeners or anonymous third parties may record live sessions without our knowledge.
- OSD.WTF is not responsible for third-party recordings, reposts, or external redistributions.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information you've provided.
- If you have concerns about how your data is handled, or if you'd like to request removal of a clip or recording, contact us at:
To make a request, email privacy@osd.wtf with sufficient detail to locate your data or content. We will respond as quickly as possible, typically within 10 business days.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the limited data we store.
However, OSD.WTF operates as a public platform — no online system is completely secure. Participate and share information at your own discretion.
9. Sponsorships & Partners
- Sponsors may appear on our website, Spaces, or promotional materials.
- We share only aggregated or anonymous analytics with sponsors (e.g., listener counts, regions).
- We never provide individual user data to sponsors or partners.
10. Children's Privacy
OSD.WTF is intended for adults 18 years or older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
If a parent or guardian believes their child has submitted personal information, contact privacy@osd.wtf to request deletion.
11. Third-Party Links & Services
Our website and broadcasts may include links or embeds from other services (e.g., X, YouTube, Discord).
We are not responsible for the content, security, or data practices of those third-party services. Their privacy policies govern any information collected through their tools.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
